3 Reasons To Vacation in Locust Lake Village

The Poconos is comprised of many communities with varying options for amentities, but Locust Lake Village in Pocono Lake, Pennsylvania remains one of the most popular summer destinations in the area year after year. Being in close proximity to both Camelbeach and Kalahari water parks but also close to Aquatopia and H2O water parks means you can choose any water park you’d like when you stay at Locust Lake Village and it will be just a short drive away. That’s if you choose to go places, though – there is plenty of outdoor fun to be had within the community itself, too.

Each year, thousands of people flock to this sprawling Pocono Lake community – some new guests, others returning again. There are many reasons why Locust Lake Village is a great place to vacation for anybody looking for a getaway in the Poconos! Here are three of the biggest reasons I think having your vacation in Locust Lake Village is a solid choice.

  1. Location, location location! As you read above, Locust Lake Village is central to the water parks of the Poconos. It is also central to most Pocono attractions. Not far from LLV, you can enjoy your motor boat on the Francis E Walter Dam. Or take a trip down to Brady’s Lake and canoe around one of the publicly accessible lakes in the state forest there. Do you like to hike? LLV is near the Lackawanna State Forest, Pinchot State Forest, Big Pocono State Park, Austin Blakeslee Natural Center, and more! If you’re a nature-lover or a photographer and you like to hike, stay in LLV and have your pick of where to go for the day!

  2. Four Lakes! Locust Lake Village has 4 lakes with beaches and other amenities to enjoy near them such as tennis courts and playground areas. So for the kayak enthusiast who doesn’t want to travel to enjoy the water, LLV has you covered! Are you into fishing? The lakes are stocked and ready to go! Grab the canoe, throw it in the water, and enjoy a nice day fishing in the clean mountain water. In the winter time, the smallest lake (Pilgrim Lake) freezes up for some old-fashioned ice skating.
  3. Affordable Vacation! For those in the Philadelphia area, Locust Lake Village is about the same distance as some of the more popular towns along the Jersey Shore – but it is a fraction of the cost to take a vacation in comparison to any of them. When someone gets the opportunity to take a vacation, budget takes immediate (and, a lot of times, ultimate) precedence. If your dollar can go further in the Poconos than it can in other vacation destinations of similar travel time, why not try it and see how it compares? And over the years, a lot of people have done just that and found out the secret of the Poconos that you can only appreciate when you stay here.

So the next time you’re putting together your short list of possible vacation destinations, don’t forget to explore one of the gems of the Pocono Mountains, Locust Lake Village. Bring your friends and family, leave behind the hustle and bustle, and come check out life at a better pace.
